Tourists

Very informative! Congratulations on your children’s program. The hands-on approach is great!

A thoroughly interesting exhibition with—from the perspective of an amateur—a detailed presentation of the origins of coins and bank notes from the whole world. We are so glad that we visited.

Come on in! We welcome visitors from points Canadian and international.
At the Currency Museum we’re friendly, approachable, and chock-full of knowledge about currency, counterfeit detection, fraud prevention, economics, and—if you’re really hard core—central banking.
Check out our calendar of exhibitions, events, and special activities. Browse through our eight galleries featuring over 8,000 objects from the National Currency Collection. Participate in our programs and activities. Ask our guides to fill you in on the finer points. There will be a lot to talk about—we boast the world’s most comprehensive collection of Canadian notes, coins, and tokens, in addition to fascinating artifacts from beyond our borders.
After touring our galleries you’ll be happy to note that you are right next door to a lush indoor tropical garden. We are close to restaurants, shops, and tourist attractions such as the Ottawa River, the Rideau Canal (a UNESCO-designated World Heritage Site), and the Byward Market.
We are within easy walking distance of many National Capital Region attractions.
