Bank of Canada

The Museum

cm4The Bank of Canada’s Currency Museum was opened in 1980. It is home to the National Currency Collection, the largest collection of Canadian bank notes, coins, and tokens in the world. The Museum is located within the historic Bank of Canada building (built in 1937), just across the street from Parliament Hill.

cm2Join one of our regular guided tours, an informative hour-long visit that provides an excellent overview of the collection. Interested in bringing a group to the museum for a tour or a museum program? Go to Tour Operators for more information. You can also learn more about Museum programs in the Learning Centre. There is no admission charge to the Museum, guided tours, or programs. While at the Museum, be sure to enjoy the Bank’s beautiful tropical garden court, the perfect place to relax or eat your lunch.
