Safe Money

(for grades 5 to 6)
Safe Money is a hands-on educational program about Canada’s paper money—which actually arrives on your doorstep in a safe. It is fun, interactive, and designed to support curriculum outcomes in social studies, history, language arts, and visual arts. Students will work collaboratively on literacy and communication skills while delving into a subject that is highly relevant to the society they inhabit.
Everything you need to offer Safe Money in your classroom is contained inside the safe. Little set-up is required. Only 40-60 minutes is required to teach the program (1-2 classroom periods).
Important Notice
In order to receive Safe Money, a User Loan Agreement must first be signed by the participating District School Board or Library/Resource Centre, and interested teachers then make local arrangements for the kit to be delivered to the classroom.
