Canada Day

Canada Day Garden Party!
When you’re ready for a break from the hustle and bustle of the Canada Day crowds, take a breather at the Currency Museum’s Garden Party! It all kicks off at 10:30—just steps from Parliament Hill.
ON THE OUTDOOR PLAZA (Corner of Bank and Sparks Streets):
- 10:30 to 15:00 – Monarchy Madness: a croquet game with a twist (win a frozen treat when you answer a question about the Royal Family and knock your croquet ball through a wicket)
- 10:30-16:00 – Put on your finery and have your picture taken with the “Queen”
- 14:00-15:00 – Enjoy the British musical stylings of the Maple Leaf Brass Band
- 15:00 – Tea Time: it’s summer tea time, and that means scones, jam and iced tea
ALL DAY IN THE MUSEUM:
- celebrate William and Kate’s visit with a look at how different generations of the Royal Family have been portrayed on Canada’s bank notes
- sneak a peek at the only example of Canada’s next generation of polymer bank notes on display anywhere in the world
- give your fingers a toothy grin by making a hand puppet in the shape of─you guessed it─a beaver!
- detect a fake bill—The Good, the Bad, and the Fake exhibition will show you how
